Located in the new Downtown Costa Mesa district, on the westside, Axis CrossFit is a laid back, close-knit, fun community that works hard and supports one another.

 

Welcome to Axis CrossFit! Our gym is located on the bluffs of beautiful Newport Beach and Costa Mesa. Founded in 2015, Axis CrossFit was opened in order to provide excellent CrossFit training within a healthy and encouraging community. Our coaches are passionate about transformation, and guiding our clients in their transformation journey. We prioritize athletes' needs through individual assessment and modifications based on their abilities and fitness goals. Axis CrossFit provides pertinent programming for fitness, weight loss, competition and performance goals.

Axis CrossFit is a close-knit fun gym community that works hard together and supports one another. Our members have various backgrounds from skating, surfing, dancing and all kinds of sports--and are moms, businessmen and women, professionals, retirees or former collegiate athletes collectively pursuing a more healthy lifestyle. Our mission is to care for any athlete that comes through our doors, encouraging them toward achieving all of their athletic goals and living a healthy life--mind and body. Healthy living is contagious and encouraging when done in a supportive gym community. Come join us!

What is CrossFit?

At its core, CrossFit training is "functional movements that are constantly varied and performed at relative high intensity". It is a unique strength and conditioning program designed to produce an overall general physical preparedness (GPP) for individuals and their daily lives.  A true CrossFit program will provide a balanced regimen of: cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.  The CrossFit methodology was specifically developed to enhance individuals competency at any physical challenge they might encounter in normal, and abnormal, daily activities. It trains for both the known, and the unknown of life's demands. The daily programming at Axis CrossFit is uniquely scalable to the individual and made suitable for any athlete.  Axis CrossFit is a gym that accommodates all skill levels as well as creates modifications for any athlete that might need them.  

 
 

Frequently asked questions

H.I.I.T. Class

The High Intensity Interval Training classes are a great, intense cardio conditioning class, combined with core strength work and basic resistance training.  The H.I.I.T. class focusses on overall conditioning: strength, endurance, muscle tone,  and core strength.  

CrossFit Class

CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program, incorporating strength, stamina, cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.  CrossFit consists of varied combinations of Weightlifting, Gymnastics, and Mono-structural Metabolic Conditioning (cardio).
